A 40-year-old Newark woman was fatally struck by a vehicle that witnesses say was speeding and driving in the wrong direction while she was walking her dog on Friday, Aug. 22, authorities said. At 10 p.m., Stefanie Munoz was walking her dog when she was struck by a 2023 gray Ford Explorer in front of 347 Clifton Ave, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. A man wanted in Vermont and Massachusetts was captured in Stamford after authorities warned he was “armed and dangerous.” Mason Payne, 23, was busted by Stamford officers Tuesday, Aug. 19, after a violent chain of events that started with a domestic assault in Dover, Vermont, authorities said.
