Pair Steals $80K From Saratoga County Senior In Computer Scam, Police Say
Two downstate residents are accused of scamming a Saratoga County senior out of more than $80,000 in cash and gift cards, then returning to collect another $30,000 before being arrested.
Chuncheng Lin, 26, of Brooklyn, and Hui Lin, 40, of Flushing, were arrested Thursday, July 31, following a joint investigation by New York State Police and the US Department of Homeland Security.
The case began Monday, June 30, when an elderly Saratoga County resident reported being targeted in a computer scam, according to New York State Police.

A 50-year-old Jersey City man was fatally stabbed at a subway station in Manhattan, authorities confirmed Wednesday, June 25.
Vincent Norman was found unresponsive with a stab wound to his neck at the West 4th Street Station in Greenwich Village at 4:25 a.m. Saturday, June 14, the New York Police Department said.
Norman was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Robert Michael Catalfamo, of Toms River, died suddenly on Sunday, Feb. 25 at Community Medical Center, according to an obituary published by McCriskin-Gustafson Family of Funeral Homes and a GoFundMe campaign. He was 43 years old.
Nearly $20,000 was raised for medical and funeral expenses by the GoFundMe page as of Thursday, March 7.
