Valley Stream Man Stole $500K From NJ Employer A 28-year-old Valley Stream man was arrested and charged with stealing nearly  $500,000 from an employer in Monmouth County, authorities announced Tuesday, Aug. 12. An investigation into Joseph Hardoon began following a referral from his former employer, an Ocean Township business, alleging he stole funds while serving as their bookkeeper, Santiago said. The investigation by the MCPO Financial Crimes and Special Prosecutions Unit discovered Hardoon stole $497,500 between 2021 and 2024, Santiago said. Hardoon was charged with theft by unlawful taking, Santiago said.
