Dirt Biker Who Nearly Killed UAlbany Freshman Gets 7-12 Years For Albany Hit-Run Crash
A 27-year-old man who struck a University at Albany student with a dirt bike and fled the scene, leaving her in a coma, will pay with years in prison.
Austin Breyette, 27, of Watervliet, was sentenced in Albany County Court on Tuesday, Jan. 20, to 7⅓ to 12 years in prison following conviction for the April 2024 crash that left Alexa Kropf in a coma.
The charges stem from an April 27, 2024, hit-and-run crash on Hudson Avenue in Albany, where prosecutors said Breyette struck Kropf, then 18, while riding a dirt bike at high speed before fleeing, as Daily Voice reported.
